As a Mom of young children, i find myself constantly bending over, carrying heavy loads (namely No. 2!) and running around. I started to develop a dull lower back ache and generally felt stiff, which is unusual for me because I have always kept active by going to the gym.
I have tried Pilates when I was working but stopped after I had No. 1. I decided to return to Pilates Reformer and Mat work. I appreciate that Pilates work focuses on developing strength in your muscles and elongating your spine with the aim of improving overall posture and efficient functional movement. What that means is: as you progress in your Pilates practice, you learn how to move day to day in a manner that is safe for your body. And you will gain strength which helps to optimise your energy too!
